New Jersey, this state can pretty much light up the way or can soothe you down with some music. It had its own fair share of a colorful and sometimes, dark history, but today, this state has a lot more than meets the eye, much more. A bit of exploring can let out what is great about New Jersey.
Let us begin with a bit of history. The phonograph, the light bulb, and the motion picture projector, what does it have in common? Of course, these were all inventions of Thomas Edison, one of the world's greatest inventors of all time. If not for his inventions, we might still be using fires to light up our nights, or just plain voices and the whispers of the wind to soothe us down, or get the beat going. What's more that, without one of his other inventions, we will not be able to see and enjoy the movies of today? And for those who would want to reminisce, and see how the great inventor's home and laboratory looked like, one can travel and visit the Thomas Edison National Historical Park, where his laboratory and his humble abode has been kept intact for visitors to see.
Planning on outdoor trips won’t be difficult here either. New Jersey has a lot of recreational areas and national parks to offer. You can enjoy trekking along the mountains, or perhaps do a bit of camping as well. And while you’re at it, climb a bit higher, especially in the winter times to enjoy some skiing or snowboarding. Want to take it to the stream? You can do so as well. You can enjoy kayaking or canoeing along the streams of Pine Barrens.
But the fun does not stop there yet, because this state has not been named The Garden State for no reason. New Jersey’s growing season would definitely fun for the entire family because there are a lot of farms that would allow visitors to pick their own fresh produce. A lot of activities are in store during picking season. You can just imagine that the vegetables and fruits in your hand are picked right where they grew from. If you do not want to do any of the messy work, you can still enjoy wandering around in the farmer’s markets.
But if you would want a bit of thrill seeking and spend absolute fun time with the family, look no further because New Jersey has one of the most famous theme parks in the world. The Six Flags Great Adventure theme park is just around the bend in Jackson City. This theme park is also famous for the world’s fastest roller coaster. But if you want a little sun and sand, you can enjoy strolling along the beaches and shores of New Jersey, all 127 miles of it.
There may be some things that you heard about New Jersey that may make you think twice from visiting this wonderful state. But rest assured that once you do, you may simply just keep on coming back for more.
